2022 Ford F-150 Platinum: Engine Bay Detail

Engine bays are the part of a truck nobody sees until the hood is up at a trade appraisal or a sale, and on a Platinum that gap between the interior and what is under the hood tends to be pretty wide. We covered the alternator, fuse box, and intake before anything got wet, then worked a degreaser through the bay with brushes to break up the road film and salt residue that builds along the strut towers and the front of the block. Everything came off with a low pressure rinse rather than a pressure washer, since forcing water into connectors on a truck loaded with sensors is how you create problems that show up two weeks later. The bay got blown dry and then dressed, which brought the plastic engine cover and the hoses back to a finish that matched the rest of the truck instead of the usual chalky gray.
