Diamond White is a paint that hides its defects until you get it under proper lighting, and this E63 S had the usual collection of wash marring and swirls sitting in the clear coat. We corrected the paint first, working through cutting and finishing stages to level those defects out and pull the pearl back into the white, since a coating is clear and locks in whatever is underneath it. The gloss black mirror caps, window trim, and fender vents were corrected separately from the body, because those pieces mark far more easily and do not take the same approach as paint does. Once the panels were where we wanted them, the car got a full wipedown and a ceramic coating laid over paint at its best, which is the whole point of doing the correction first. What it leaves is a finish that beads hard, stays clean between washes, and holds that depth for years instead of months.
